capabilities

  • Service 1: furnish & install

NCSS prides itself in its commitment to self-perform every install – no subcontracted labor or out-of-town crews showing up on your job. We believe strongly that this is a differentiator between a dealer who just drops off product and a true partner who owns the shades over the life of the product. We furnish and install the full Division 12 scope on tenant fit-outs, ground-up construction, and phased renovations, with our licensed engineers coordinating pockets, backing, and power requirements long before product ships. Our own crews will close out the project, walk your team through operation, and hand over complete warranty and O&M documentation.

  • Service 2: service calls & repairs

As durable as shading systems are, they are still a physical product moving many times throughout the day – things can break. NCSS services manual, motorized, and automated window treatments regardless of who installed them, from single-unit fabric, clutch, or motor replacements to building-wide control system troubleshooting. Use the Contact Us link below to speak with a member of our team – we will diagnose, source the right parts, and get a technician on site quickly (or even same-day when it's an emergency) to get your shades back in working shape.

  • Service 3: maintenance plans

Motorized shading systems are truly interconnected networked building systems, and like any building system they need preventative care and maintenance over time. Batteries die, schedules fall behind the seasons, and sensors get damaged. NCSS maintenance plans start with a thorough walkthrough to document every product, location, and control zone in your facility, then set a visit cadence that fits how your building is actually used. Every plan is scoped to the building, and our local technicians who know your system are the ones who will continually care for your system.

  • Service 4: detailing

Roller shade detailing may be the single most important aspect of a roller shade coordination effort. From simple manual shade pocket detailing through custom integrated systems, our team delivers project-specific detailing within each of our shop drawing packages, specifically addressing cross-trade coordination. We are happy to offer pre-bid or pre-construction design-assist services to building owners, architects, and contracting partners.

  • Service 5: system budgeting

Understanding the needs of a design team and owner is a critical - and all too often ignored - step into properly estimating the cost of a shade system. As an experienced dealer and subcontractor, we are able to leverage our deep knowledge of shading systems to help design teams and contractors establish budget pricing throughout any design phase of a project.

With professional engineers on staff, our team's background in building system design allows NCSS to also evaluate costs for Division 26 (electrical) and Division 23 (mechanical) impacts from the shading and integration system selections.

  • Service 6: retro-commissioning

If you are an owner or facility manager with existing motorized roller shades, chances are you have a system with significant room for improvement with the addition of intelligence and automation. NCSS offers existing system evaluation to provide recommendations and solutions to update your control system and shade programming to improve glare control and energy use. NCSS can analyze your system and execute a workplan to fine-tune your system.

  • Service 7: retro-motorization

Limited budget on renovation work? No problem. Retrofitting existing manual roller shades is an easy way to bring a new level of performance and glare control to existing facilities at a fraction of the cost of a new automated system. Retrofitting motors brings basic motorized functionality into existing shades all the way up to sun-tracking automated performance.

Our team at NCSS can review existing building layouts to determine what power and communication requirements will be needed and then furnish and install the required parts to seamlessly upgrade your existing system.
